Default PLANETZ

Should PLANETZ be removed from the game for beta release?

This thread will be deleted once a decision has been reached.

Just take away about 60% of the chords and add it as a v2. You could do this kind of fix in half an hour at most.

I don't think a chart should be removed without a good reason. Since we have permission now, and as far as I know, the charter has no objections, I say we should keep it. It's got 526 plays on it right now, so if it were removed, eventually someone may want to play it again, even if it only crosses their mind for a bit.
Besides, there isn't too much of a problem in having a chart where awkwardness is part of the difficulty, especially if Arch0wl's suggestion is implemented. Some people may actually like the chart, kind of like Suishou-Sekai ~Fracture~ (beatmap #28984) in osu!.

As much as people may dislike it, I don't think the file should be removed.

don't worry about whether a chart should be removed or not

ask yourself, "if this chart wasn't in the game, would I put it in the game?"

by this standard i say the file should be removed
this is not a question of editing the file like arch0wl wants to make it, this is a question of removing the existing chart
the chart is beta as fuck and doesn't fit in with Da Master Plan, and using awkwardness as a means of difficulty is the most retarded concept anyone has ever come up with and anyone who does it (i feel like that isn't the case for this file since it's so old) should feel terabad for it

Just had a play through of the chart, I think PLANETZ has its value and should be keep, because this kind of chart (chordmash) is lacking. At least, it is the only chart at that level currently. (I found those rating 42 charts e.g. Lunatic Gaze significantly easier).

To me, Flower Awaken is about jacks rather than chordmash, and that song lacks 16ths, which PLANETZ is present.

I would keep it because it can be pretty fun to play charts like this one.

keep in mind however that stargroup's question isn't if you would put it in the game, it's if he would put it in the game
he's the only person with any say of what charts get into kbo

"if the chart wasn't in the game, would stargroup put it in the game"

I think the answer would be no. He would tell the stepper to fix some patterns up that are really awkward before accepting. I would imagine it to be refined a number of times just like most other submitters would do before having it accepted. Then again, he might be more encompassing than I would have imagined.

I take back my No and say N/A.

If it's really that bad of a chart I suppose now's as good a time as any to remove it.

But then again, I don't see what's so bad about it. Personally, I like some of its sections.

I've gotten better in the last week-or-so, and I don't dislike PLANETZ anymore. So now that I can get a decent (C+) score on PLANETZ, I'm asking myself what it is that made me hate the song's chart initially.

After improving, I noticed that I could read and pay attention to far more complicated patterns than I could pre-improvement. This means that your ability to read patterns is directly related to your ability to do those patterns.

Moreover, I think I disliked it because most charts, such as State of the Art, are charted in such a way that even if you have no chance of getting a good grade on them, you can still feel like you're doing well.

PLANETZ, by contrast, is pretty upfront with the parts that make the song difficult. You see the song's patterns and think "I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS, ARGH" but you just can't. It's a gigantic fart in your face.

Now that I can do the song, it's actually really fun, and I have to revise my answer to a strong no: PLANETZ should not be removed.
